Thirteen Knots & Lucky Bones: A Folk Charm Workshop for Warding & Fortune.
Friday the 13th has long been marked as unlucky, but in folk tradition, ill-omened days are powerful ones.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the folklore and superstitions surrounding luck, bad signs, and protection, and learn how everyday people historically worked with fear through simple, intentional magic. Using knotwork, symbolic “bones,” herbs, and found tokens, participants will create a personal folk charm designed either to ward misfortune or invite good fortune.
You’ll learn:
•The folk magic of knot-tying and why odd numbers, especially thirteen, matter
•How bones and symbolic tokens have been used as charms of survival and luck
•How superstition functions as a form of practical, protective magic
Each participant will leave with a completed charm, practical knowledge of folk charm-making, and a reclaimed relationship with so-called “bad luck.”
This workshop is beginner-friendly and grounded in tradition, not ceremonial complexity.
All materials provided.
No experience needed. Just curiosity, hands-on magic, and a love of the strange.
